This is where the description goes, a place to describe the purpose and intent of the blog. Apparently we thought the title already did that! For those still confused, this blog is where JM and MH rant about random things. We apologize for any confusion. Now, feel free to read on.

SOTD - I Know It Hurts
We all fall sometimes you're not the first
But I know it hurts, yeah I know it hurts
In the end you'll find what you deserve
Still I know it hurts, yeah I know it hurts
There's still tomorrow...MH

SOTD - My Own Prison
Love this image. It was the cover work for Creed's My Own Prison album. It was taken by lead guitarist Mark Tremonti's brother, Daniel for a photography class. It went on to be seen by millions of people as the album went 6x platinum. Today's SOTD is the lead single from the album.

IFC - Independent Film Channel
I'm not usually a big fan of independent movies. I'm sure it's more of a statement on me than it is on the quality of movies. However on Saturday I ended up watching two movies from IFC.
The first one was Flypaper with Patrick Dempsey, Mekhi Phifer, Ashley Judd and Jeffery Tambor. Think Clue meets Ocean's Eleven meets Raising Arizona meets Die Hard meets any number of Rom-Com's. It's not going to make anyone's list of Best Movies of All Time, but it was entertaining to me, even if it did feel a little rushed.
The central premise is what would happen if a bank was robbed simultaneously by two sets of bank robbers. Mix that in with an inevitable love story and it's actually pretty good. I'm not sure how it didn't get broad release. I've seen some of the junk that comes out in wide release and this was certainly better fare than some I've seen.
Also, I watched One Week. A quirky movie about a serious question, "if you only had one week to live, what would you do?" It was entertaining in a very different way than Flypaper, but certainly worth the time to watch. It chronicles a guy, Ben Tyler, played by Joshua Jackson on a motorcycle trip from Toronto to Tofino after hearing he has an aggressive form of cancer.
It's certainly Canadian from its understated quality to scenery to all the Canadian references such as the Tim Horton's 'roll up the rim to win' coffee cups, but anyone can watch and enjoy.
I'm not sure I'm completed converted to indie films, I did watch Super 8 the same day after all, but I will certainly be keeping my eyes open for more sleepers.
